But first, let me ask you something: how long after leaving a job site do you typically send a quote? Same day, next day, two to three days, or whenever you get to it? Be honest with yourself — that's exactly the gap we're talking about today.
Let's make this real. The usual way you size up the job with a tape measure. Maybe a helper's holding the other end. You're writing numbers on your phone or your hand, hoping you don't lose track or forget that weird angle. Or if you're like me in Texas, hoping you don't sweat those numbers off. You get back to the truck, you try to remember if that back corner was 40 feet or 45. You get home, you open Excel, you do the math,

you build the quote. If you're fast, it goes out that night — but realistically it goes out tomorrow morning, if nothing else comes up first.
Now imagine a new way: you walk the same perimeter once, with your Moasure device. It captures the distance, the elevation change, and that weird back corner, all in a single pass. All right, I'm done, enough talking. Let's meet Barry Fitzgerald from Moasure and Alexann Watson from ArcSite. Both of you, give us the 30-second overview of you, what you do, and what the company does. Barry, let's start with you.
BARRY: I wanted you to keep talking, to be honest, Nicole — I couldn't have said it any better myself. But for those who don't know who I am: I'm Barry. I do something between, I don't know, geometry-wrangling for Moasure and content creation at Moasure. This device — it's a motion-based measuring device. The world's first motion-based measuring device. Which means that as you

walk, it's measuring in X, Y, and Z. It's got some wild technology — the kind you'll find in rocket ships — embedded within it, that helps track it within 3D space, in the palm of your hand. And as you said, Nicole, I couldn't have put it better myself: it will help you measure the most unforgiving, unrelentingly undulating terrain. Something that would take two people a few days and a lot of therapy, you can do in five minutes using this device. I'll explain more as we go on, but I hope that made sense.
NICOLE: That made sense. Alexann, let's talk a little bit about you — what do you do here?
ALEXANN: Yeah — my name is Alexann Watson. I'm the Partner Account Manager over at ArcSite. At ArcSite, we're a mobile CAD drawing tool that you can use to draw your projects, take signatures, take payments, produce proposals, and close deals on site in the field.
NICOLE: That sounds great, I'm really excited to get into this. So Barry, you were talking about the Moasure device — I'd love to dive into this a little more. Let's start with what happens if somebody says, "You know what, I want this new way." What does the device do? How does it work? Give us all the good details.
BARRY: Okay. Well, like I said — thanks, Nicole. This is a motion-based measuring device. So simply, as I walk around a site — no matter how irregular, how complex, however many obstacles are in the way —

this will measure that site in 3D. It'll give you the elevation, it'll give you the distances, it'll give you the width, all the way along.
So just imagine how we used to measure. I remember working a job, let's say, in San Francisco — and the problem with San Francisco is it's not flat. (Sorry to anyone I know over there.) You open up the back door and the backyard just falls away down a hill. I remember one time we were trying to replace a fence line, and we wanted to step it all the way down. That was — it was unforgiving. It was undulating. There were obstacles in the way, concrete posts everywhere. And you ask, how do you measure that? How is it even possible?
I'll tell you how we did it back in the day: we got a string line, pulled it really tight, and it still sagged in the middle. We're working backwards, I'm tripping over tree roots, I step back a little more and try to hold my tape to measure down. The wind blows my — my plastic level's blown all over the place, getting snagged in a corner. Plus I need two people because I'm hooking tape at the corners as well and trying to do it. I'd spend a whole day doing that before I've even cut a piece of timber or got a six-foot vinyl panel in the ground.
Whereas with Moasure, I can go to that same site and just walk it. Doesn't matter if there's a bush or a tree or debris or even a buffalo in my way — I can walk around it, and this device will draw a point from one side of the obstacle

to the other side, connect the two, and I'll not only have the distance, I'll also have the rise and the run. Which, as we know — if we don't, we get unsightly gaps in the fence line, and we want it stepped in, all flush and running — I need to know the rise and run. This does it automatically. I'm talking about an all-day job turned into 5 or 10 minutes, with one person, using this.
NICOLE: That's amazing. And Barry, thinking about that — it makes a lot of sense for fencing, but I'm guessing there are other home services pros who'd benefit from something like this too. Foundation repair, maybe even pest control, where you're trying to get into really tight spaces. Tell me a little about how this works for other industries.
BARRY: That's for sure, Nicole. There are lots of different — sorry — companies and industries that use Moasure. Pros in landscaping, hardscaping, foundation repair, as you say, and pest control. Foundation repair — you're talking sinking slabs, bowing walls, oddly shaped foundations. This device is perfect because you can walk the perimeter, just take a stroll, like a walk in the park, and it will measure exactly: every swerve, every dip, and crucially, the elevations. I know when I've seen it myself — and I know Alexann will talk about this a bit more — that information

feeds directly into ArcSite, and you'll be able to see where to put down your helical piers, your wall anchors, all that kind of thing.
And funnily enough — I thought this could just map out tricky back gardens when it was invented, by the wizards and engineers and all the clever people who read big books. They thought it would just help measure a backyard. Then the excavation folks came along and said, can I use it for volume, for digging trenches — a place I love to be, mud all over me, sawdust in my hair, swinging hammers, I love it. Turns out Moasure can measure that too. Then foundation repair — can it do that? Of course it can. And it keeps improving all the time.
I actually lost my train of thought there — I was going to say it measures volume too. It gives you the cut and fill, the perimeters, the total area, and a 3D model by the time you finish your walk. That's what this device is doing. Nobody thought, when they started, it would end up like this.
NICOLE: That's amazing. It's almost like a magic hockey puck.
BARRY: I'm going to steal that. A magic hockey puck — that's a good one.
NICOLE: So thinking about Moasure and all those use cases — how accurate is it?
BARRY: It's 99.7% accurate, which is a highly accurate device —

on par with advanced measuring instruments. To give you a sense of what that accuracy means in practice: I talk to a lot of customers who use Moasure and ArcSite together — I'll pick one. Michael Olson, Madison Fence Company. He told me about a 500-foot commercial job he was doing — it had an engineered wall, custom shapes built in, and a 90-degree rounded corner. It's the kind of job where, if you get it wrong, your aluminum railings are useless.
He took this device, mapped out the topography, the elevation, and the exact radius of that curve — and his measurement was more accurate than the architect's plans. He said it's saved him over $2,000. It's paid for itself over and over.
I was out in Texas last year — big hats, big boots, big buckles, and weather that isn't exactly built for Irish people, roasting and incinerating me — but I was out there, on the line for all of you, meeting guys like Daniel Schooner of Rustic Fence. He did a 7,500-foot fencing job, and he had his measurements — and therefore his take-offs, his estimates, his materials —

because he'd done it with Moasure and done the tech stack with ArcSite, his budget was dialed right down to the nuts and bolts. He never had to over-order or under-order — no emergency runs to the supplier. He's just using Moasure and ArcSite, and he's on the money.
NICOLE: As a Kelly who lives in Texas, I understand that weather all too well. I've grown up around plenty of Kellys on the west coast of Ireland too — I believe it means "person of war." And let me tell you, I've played many a game of football against them and I'm still black and blue, no quarter given — so I'm not picking a fight with you, Barry, I believe you.
Okay — so thinking about all those accurate measurements and elevation changes, Alexann: once it gets into ArcSite, what happens? How does it get in — do you just push a button?
ALEXANN: Yeah, absolutely. You Bluetooth-connect your Moasure device to your phone or tablet, and you're able to click a button within ArcSite to say "measure with Moasure." It produces those measurements, in that shape, right there within the app. I actually got to try it myself this weekend — I used my sister's backyard as an example — and it just makes things so much quicker and easier. You get your measurements, the shape of whatever area you're drawing, and you're able to then

go into ArcSite and draw with whatever products you need from your product library, drop those in, and produce a clean, professional-looking proposal. And again — take digital signatures, take digital payments, close the deal on site.
I had an instance a few months ago, working for a turf company, where I didn't have a Moasure device. I had a tape measure, and I had to measure a very oddly shaped, kidney-shaped front yard for a gentleman who wanted a turf quote. It took me nearly two hours to get that quote done. It was raining, it was a mess — my first time going through that. It took such a long time.
So when I got to meet Barry — with Moasure — for the first time, I thought, oh my gosh, I wish I'd had this device, it would have made my job so much quicker. Instead of measuring at various points in the yard with a tape measure and then drawing it in ArcSite afterward — if I'd been able to just walk around, capture that shape and those measurements within ArcSite, I probably could have closed it in 30 minutes, honestly. A quarter of the time, for something that took me almost two hours.
It really proves its value when you can get instant measurements within the drawing and produce an instant proposal. It's the perfect pair to save time and get more jobs done.
NICOLE: I hear that story all the time, Alexann. Isn't it wild — what you used to have to do was turn up to the site, measure, draw it on paper, take the dimensions, then drive all the way back home or back to the studio. Spend two or three hours

at the kitchen table while your family's having fun without you, rewriting and uploading all of that into a piece of software to build your take-offs, materials, products, and proposal. Whereas now, you can capture it with Moasure in five minutes.
Because when you turn up to a site, you don't want to disappear for an hour into a hedge or crawl through the undergrowth — you want to spend time with your clients. The technology we build should reduce the measurement and proposal workload, not add to it — that's a far better reason to build technology.

ALEXANN: Yeah — and building that trust, particularly in home services, is really important, because a lot of the time

these aren't jobs people bid out every day — they're usually big-ticket items, and customers don't have a lot of experience or understanding of what goes into it. Having a tool like Moasure, where you can say, "hey, let me show you this dip in your backyard, this captures it" — that concern homeowners have, like "I've got weird angles in my fence line, did the contractor with the tape measure and the plastic level actually get everything?" — building that trust, knowing everything is accurate, means I'm not overpaying for materials because I wasn't sure, and I'm not underpaying either and showing up halfway through the job to say "my bad, I need to come back next week." Building that trust is a really important part of it.
NICOLE: And it goes beyond just accuracy and speed of the quote, doesn't it?
ALEXANN: Yeah — it changes the conversation from "I'll email you next week, maybe eventually," to "let's talk about your project right now." What would you like — sunken fire pits, a certain kind of railing? What do you want to achieve? Why are you doing this project? What's your budget? You can have that conversation right there, and close the deal.
NICOLE: Alexann, I know you've got experience with a landscaping company — tell me a little

about what that felt like from the rep's point of view.
ALEXANN: Yeah, no, Barry's absolutely right. The more involved you get your homeowner, your customer, the more invested they are in the project — and the more invested they are in you. I had the homeowner right there with me, making sure I was drawing the shape of his oddly shaped yard correctly. It took us a few tries, but when you can just walk around and have that shape immediately, and they see, "wow, that was accurate the first time" — that builds trust, and it builds the stickiness of that deal for you.
And again, when you can ask right there — "do you want this here, do you want these trees over here, do you want this kind of turf, do you want it to look like this" — you're getting them involved, and you're saving time to build rapport with your customer too, which matters enormously. I'm big on connection, on getting to know my customers and homeowners, and I'd rather have a little extra time to talk about something non-business, like football, if I can save that time elsewhere. Because the more connection you build with your customer, the stickier that deal gets — they're going to buy from you if they like you. So you want that extra time to build rapport with them too.
NICOLE: That makes a lot of sense. Barry, I know you've had your share of pulling tape — tell me, what was it like the first time you got your hands on a Moasure device?

BARRY: I couldn't believe it was real. My reaction was probably the same as a lot of people's: is this a gimmick? Is it real? Is it a glitch in the algorithm? Is it AI? But believe me, it's as real as sweat on your brow. I couldn't believe it — I kept saying, "wait, I just walk with this device?" It's got wild rocket-ship technology inside, capturing points multiple times per second and drawing it all out in real time. By the time I'm finished walking, I have a 3D model right in the palm of my hand.
So I can visualize that whole measurement — like the pest control story I mentioned. Pest control isn't something I'd ever thought about it being used for. The first time I went on a call with Moasure, years ago, the first person I spoke with, I told him what Moasure can do — I'm talking landscaping, excavation, that's my background — and he said, "we can use it to get the perimeter" — apparently it's a regulatory requirement to know how many bait stations you need, and then you know what chemicals you have to use, how much those chemicals cost, and how much money you can save just by having that information. I can get it in five seconds, and it's all labeled out. It blows my mind that as much as I think I know how to use

And we say, actually, it already can. Jobs that were once impossible are now simple and easy, and can only be done with Moasure.
I recently found out that the Austrian and Swedish Olympic downhill skiing teams, and the USA ski jump team, are using Moasure. They're measuring out their runs and their ski jumps — and this isn't just to get a rough idea of the layout, they need to know if their runs and jumps are legal. It's a rigorous regulatory thing.
And I'm thinking — you know, people in the fencing industry, you guys should be an Olympic sport too. When you're on rough terrain, cascading downhill, going over obstacles, feeling like you're on a slalom course — it's a different industry, but the measuring problem and the quoting problem are exactly the same. NICOLE: That's incredible. I can't even imagine me on skis going off a ski lift, let alone holding a Moasure device — I'd be screaming so much. Glad those runs don't get recorded. So, thinking about this — I'm sold.
