Our process without ArcSite would be on paper and pen still and I would not like my life. Can't say that. [Laughter] Producer: Yeah, probably rephrase that a little bit. My name is Jared Meyer, president of Accent Fence. We're based in Atlanta, Georgia. We are a residential and commercial fence company. We specialize on your everyday fence. We'd like to get out there and grip it and rip it, and install some pretty good looking fence. Customer: “I’m looking for something that is about kind of a similar height, like around six feet and, wanted to just look at a few options. That are a little bit more aesthetical pleasing than the chain link, but, still would like to keep some visibility. We like to be able to see, the green space and the neighbors are friendly. Just a little like open air circulation. We tried out pretty much every estimating software period, but I fell in love with ArcSite. So we stuck with it and grew and grew and grew. And I tell you, it's proved wonders for our bottom line and top line. ArcSite solved the human error of pricing. It allowed us to take our pricing strategies and implement it for salesmen so they could have on site estimating and allow them for no errors, so they didn't have to come back and ask for more questions. Or I have a salesman in the field that needs a custom priced, product that I can automatically put a product in, in a bundle and get them accurate pricing for the customer on site, allowing us to have more efficiency, more speed, and be, right in front of the customer, getting that sale closed even quicker and faster with better, relations to the customer. With Accent Fence, I mean, I've been here for seven months now, and I was working at another outside sales job for four years, and we would literally have to type it in our system and then print it off in the car and then hand it to the homeowner. Oh, wow. And versus now, I'll present it on my iPad, send it to their email. And that way they don't accidentally throw that piece of paper in the trash. I would say arguably, like every single job has that impact on it. We have seen the success rate and the revenue grow about 50%. we've seen the close ratio go up about 20%. With ArcSite, and two sales guys, I can do more than four sales guys and paper and pen than any other company in the country.

The Challenge

Even with experienced salespeople in the field, Accent Fence's paper-and-pen process was creating friction that cost them time, money, and deals.

In the old workflow, sales reps measured properties by hand and sketched fence layouts on paper. Then, reps typed estimates into a system back in their car, printed quotes, and handed them to homeowners. This led to pricing errors due to manual calculations and inconsistent product configurations. Customers received paper quotes that often got lost. Overall, the team couldn't provide real-time support when reps needed custom pricing for unique projects

When a sales rep encountered a unique project requiring custom pricing, Jared could remotely create product bundles and push updated pricing to the rep's tablet in real-time. "I can be on the other side of town and look at a project, create a custom bundle, and get them accurate pricing for the customer on-site," Jared explains. "It allows us to close the sale quicker and faster with better relations to the customer."

Instead of handing customers paper quotes that could be misplaced, reps now present polished, branded proposals on their iPads and send them directly to the customer's email.
