Overview

A fence isn't just about marking your property line or keeping your dog in the yard. It's about creating a space that feels safe, private, and beautiful. It’s creating a space where your kids can play freely. A place where your family can be outside and have meaningful time together.

For Accent Fence, understanding what customers truly want is at the heart of their business. Bought by Gary and Jared Meyer in 2021, the company specializes in residential and commercial fencing across the Atlanta area, with a reputation for exceptional customer service and top-tier quality.

As a growing fence company in a crowded market, Accent Fence needed more than good installers and fair prices. They needed a sales process that could keep pace with customer expectations, eliminate pricing errors, and close deals on the first visit.

The Challenge

Even with experienced salespeople in the field, Accent Fence's paper-and-pen process was creating friction that cost them time, money, and deals.

In the old workflow, sales reps measured properties by hand and sketched fence layouts on paper. Then, reps typed estimates into a system back in their car, printed quotes, and handed them to homeowners. This led to pricing errors due to manual calculations and inconsistent product configurations. Customers received paper quotes that often got lost. Overall, the team couldn't provide real-time support when reps needed custom pricing for unique projects

The consequences were clear:

  • Human error in pricing led to inconsistent quotes and margin erosion
  • Slower close rates because customers had to wait for follow-up or lost their quotes entirely
  • Lower efficiency meant more sales reps were needed to hit revenue targets
  • No visibility for leadership into what was being quoted in the field

As Jared puts it, "If our process was still on paper and pen, I would not like my life. I can't say that enough…ArcSite solved the human error of pricing. It allowed us to take our pricing strategies and implement them for salesmen so they could have on-site estimating with no errors."

Sales rep Tyler Watson added, "At my previous job, we'd literally have to type quotes into our system and print them off in the car, then hand them to the homeowner.”

The Solution

Accent Fence tested "pretty much every fencing software out there," said Jared. But in the end, ArcSite stood out. The platform allowed Accent Fence to digitize its entire pricing strategy, eliminate manual errors, and empower sales reps to quote accurately on-site, all from a tablet.

What changed:
ArcSite allowed Accent Fence to build its pricing logic directly into the platform. Sales reps could configure fences, gates, and custom products in the field, and ArcSite calculated accurate pricing instantly without manual math or guesswork.

When a sales rep encountered a unique project requiring custom pricing, Jared could remotely create product bundles and push updated pricing to the rep's tablet in real-time. "I can be on the other side of town and look at a project, create a custom bundle, and get them accurate pricing for the customer on-site," Jared explains. "It allows us to close the sale quicker and faster with better relations to the customer."

Instead of handing customers paper quotes that could be misplaced, reps now present polished, branded proposals on their iPads and send them directly to the customer's email.

The Results

By moving from paper-and-pen to ArcSite's digital workflow, Accent Fence transformed its sales efficiency and bottom line. Sales reps show up looking professional, quote with confidence, and close deals before leaving the property. Leadership has visibility and control over pricing across the entire team. And customers get clear, accurate proposals they can trust. In a competitive fencing market, those advantages add up to more revenue, higher close rates, and a leaner, more efficient team.
